I have bought many items from elf, such as liquid eye liner, shadows, and nail polish.

 

They are really poor quality, and the liquid liner chips off!  Even for the price I would not buy again, I threw all the items away! 

 

BUTTT .................the eyeshadow brush and smudger work awesome!

What can you really expect for a dollar? E.L.F. has some amazing products, sadly this just isn't one of them. I put it on and the pencil really pulled on my skin and I'm pretty tolerant with liners and pulling so for me to care is a big thing. The liner smudged pretty badly and wore off where I put it within two hours. I wouldn't buy it again. 

This is a deep blue, almost black colour. It takes a bit of effort to apply as it not very soft. Not very easy to smudge either so not good for a smokey eye!

I liked this eyeliner.  It's a traditional wooden pencil with a clear plastic cap.  The shade, Ash, was a dark slate grey.  I found it to be very flattering and soft, a nice alternative to black.  I did a subtle look and a more dramatic one, and both looked great.  The color goes on very smooth and easy and smudges nicely.  One thing I didn't like was the cap, it tends to get pushed down too far and smushes the tip of the pencil.  I have 3 other shades of this pencil and all my tips got smushed and I had to resharpen. 

 

Oh, and I don't know why this is called "Brightening" eyeliner.  It's just a regular old eyeliner!
